Post 9

I think that the play reveals our need of courage and hope for freedom. I read a french book long time ago named "Anne et Godefroy". This book was about two teenagers in middle ages and they were having conflicts with one of the character which was a rich person... so they had to be courageous to go through the event. They never lost hope and they at the end, earned their freedom of marriage... I think this theme was similar to Anne's. She needed tobe courageous to actually live through Holocaust. That is why I chose this book to compare to Anne Frank...

There are many books about Holocaust because it was the biggest genocide of the world history. This genocide or Holocaust resulted people to fear Germany for a certain time. We always think about the victims and also wish that an event something like wont happen again. THat is why this book and other Holocaust books are so many and they retell a lot about the same topic. I think that the people who lost their lives are enough for victims of political issues. That thing should not happen ever again.

post 7 Act 1 scene 4,5

Anne's nightmare and other events following that event makes a tension between Mrs. Frank and Mr. Dussel. Mr. Dussel gets annoyed by all the nightmares of Anne and having the risks of getting caught. Also since Anne prefers only her "Pim", her mother gets heartbroken believing that she did a lot of things that made Anne to think that way. They had many fights and Anne still hated her mother and Margot(for being such a perfect girl).

post 6 act 1, scenes 1-3

I think the hardest part of like in the Annexe is being with all 7 other people in crambed up room. This could be hard when they have conflicts with each other. It is hard to look at other people when they don't like you but you have to live with them because it's a matter of you living or not... I think that was the hardest part.. and also sharing 4 people worth food with 8 people. I think that Anne and Peter and Margot needs all that food but they were unfortunate to only have some....ㅠㅠ

post 5 Act1

I agree that there are no walls bo bolts nor locks that can lock Anneke's mind. That is true . And nobody could lock anyone's mind. THat is what I believe unless they are brain washed. For such a bright girl like Anne, Nothing ,nd I mean Nothing, can stop her... I also think that Holocaust was only a conflict that affected her outer self, but inside she was always bright imaginative and she was a tomboy...

post 4 theme

The authors trying to say that the power is not alway having the control of all the people... Also one's action for power could result in a massacre like this one. I think the reeason why this book is so widely spread is to get alesson from it and not repeat the same thing which obviously is not working 100%... I think also that human life is precious and killing them won;t change anything. It;s just losing one precious liife. Killing is not the ultimate answer and it should never be. I think that there are other ways to solve one problem and that Hitler didn;t need to to such a cruelty.

3rd post Irony

I think in this reference to the outside world was much different. Mr. Frank was trying to comfort Anne and that surely did work... well At least for Anne. I think that what Anne didn't realise was that it was a chaos in the outside world. She might not have understood the situation and that Jews were forbidden everywhere, and that nobody welcomes her...

post 2 What is prejudice??

a prejudice is a "unreasonable" bad attitude toward one ethnic group or a person. I have seen prejudice in Canada. People made fun of me because I was an Asian. They called me "la chienne chinoise" even when I didn't do anything... Thatwas hard to get over with. This kind of things could end up with the victim commiting suicide. Especially when that person was there as an international student and alone with nobody that person knows of, than he/she could commit suicide...

Blog 1 Holocaust

Holocaust is a term for massive killing and it is also known as Genocide. This also means big fire. Holocaust happened during WW2 and was massive killing of Jews and political enemies of Hitler. Germans were the ones who started the war and this "aryan issue". IT was about that everybody needs to be pure and have blonde hair, blue eyes and etc.... Something funny about this was that Hitler was actually not an Aryan... That is what I know of Holocaust.

Red Scarf Girl... what I learned from the book...

From this book... I learned that I am not the one who had to learn to grow up so early... Living alone is hard but not as losing e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g that someone had. I can't imagine that happening to me... ㅠㅠ I would commit suicide... not caring about my younger sister as usual.. anyways.... another thing that I learned is that she has the courage to try new things.... that I don't. I want to have courage and be courageous enough that I get out of this little shell and expand both my knowledge and experience....

Red Scarf Girl (Theme)

I think that the theme of this book was much cultural revolution. Because this book is all about the girl who lived in China during the rule of Mao Zedong and when the cultural revolution took place. It is possible to view that the cultural revlution ruined many lives leaving them as brainwashed by the communism. It is mentioned that she got brainwashed and she hated the way that she was living in the epilogue. By the end, Jili admitted her life and got used to the cultural revolution. The theme, I think, is also one's effort to try to improve his/her life. well.... yeah... that's what I think it is because Jili tried very hard to improve her life that got ruined by the cultural revolution and that Mao Zedong guy...

Red Scarf Girl (Character)

Jili Jiang is the main character in this book. Jili shows leadership towards her siblings and learned to act like an adult even when she is younger than most of the people in our class... The character goes through many difficult situations and it is impossible for a teenager to go through something like that well is not common... It is also hard to go through a humiliation like Jili had from the government. Because her grand father was a land lord, she was considered a five black category and called a black whelp. She lost many opportunities to accomplish her dream. She was always the victim and eventually got brainwashed to the communist ways. I think that the cultural revolution takes a huge part of Jili's life. She was a great athelete, loved the bourgeois ways that she was provided with. But she lost everything. Her father, an actor, was forced to become a janitor and her grandmother and mother as street cleaners. She and her siblings were called a black whelp. They weren't allowed to do anything of their choice. But Jili went through all these problems courageously and was very intriguing to me.........

secret

Everybody has secret. some has little and some has a lot. I have a secret that nobody knows about. It's only me that knows about it. But if somebody finds out about it and tells everybody about it, that is not going to be pleasant. There are two secrets. There is a secret that you really want that other people finds out and there is a secret that you want nobody to know about. All the secrets are not kept as a secret always. Eventually, secrets are found out some way or the other. that is how the society works. The world is a dangerous place to keep a secret and one little clue or word could change your fate....

courage

I am not so courageous. I am selfish, sometimes too scared to do anything, but that is not the definition of courage. But there was once a moment in my life that I had to get over with courage. I think courage is something that comes to you when you are scared so much that you cannot actually not continue. (if it does make sense) When I was a 3rd grader, that was the moment when the worst events of my life started to happen. That was when I got bullied because I was a foreigner who is in the country without her parents. I missed my parents very much and it was hard to stay not crying when I saw my friends with their parents. a year later, I got much more courageous able to do nearly everything alone in the age of 9 years old. This was my moment of courage and it is likely the only one that I could remember
